Telehealth Instructional Video

Health Resources & Service Administration suggests the need for step-by-step guidance on how to use telehealth for older patients, who are more likely to have difficulty with face-to-face appointments. Therefore, a clear instructional video on the process of telehealth appointments from a patient’s perspective could enhance the accessibility of telehealth for older adults. 

This multimedia material targets the older adults in their 60s-70s. It’s more likely that this target population is having problems with mobility, which means telehealth is a viable option for them to check their health regularly.

At the end of this training, the learners will be able to identify three steps to use telehealth in the comfort of their home. 

- Story with Target Learner Persona: Using a character that the learners could sympathize with could be effective in captivating attention and increasing motivation to learn about the new concept

- Structured Content: A step-by-step guide structured with what to do before, during, and after their telehealth appointment makes it simple for the learners to identify how to use telehealth.

Using animation for this instruction was to introduce how to use telehealth in a way that lowers inhibition to the new technology. By seeing a character that resembles the learners and how the character benefits from the technology, the learners can have a positive attitude toward the learning process laid out in the multimedia material.
